FOLLOWING the abduction of nine people in Pegi Community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Monday night, the FCT Police Command, on Tuesday, said it had commenced moves to rescue the victims unhurt.
In a statement by its spokesperson, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Anjuguri Manzah, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja, the command said although, the detail of the incident was still sketchy, urging members of the public to remain calm, while its officers intensify effort to rescue and reunite victims with members of their families.

According to the statement, we call on the public to be security-conscious and provide information to the Police and other relevant security agencies on suspicious movements and activities within their communities.
“The command reassures members of the public of its commitment to protecting lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory.” It added.
