Police arrest two suspected transformer fuel thieves in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy and theft of transformer diesel fuel.

The announcement was made in a situation report from the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dungus Abdulkarim, which was made available to journalists in Damaturu on Friday.

The PPRO stated, “I am grateful to inform you that on 24/01/2024 at about 0200hrs, a team of policemen, in conjunction with vigilante groups led by P&G ASP Lukman Usman while on patrol, intercepted and arrested one Bala Sa’idu of Numan LGA, Adamawa State, and Suraja Adamu of Gamawa LGA, Bauchi State.”

According to him, the suspects were arrested with eight jerricans of diesel fuel and a pipe along Jakusko/Gololo road.

The PPRO added that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, and the case is under investigation to ascertain the level of their involvement.

Dungus Abdulkarim assured that further developments will be communicated to the general public.
