THE Police in Ogun State have arrested one Omotola Amuda and Mayowa Adesegun, for cultism.
The duo, according to a statement by the acting Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, made available to the Tribune Online on Sunday, had it that the suspects had been on the wanted list of the Command.
They were both arrested at the university town of Ago -Iwoye, in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the State.
Oyeyemi said the two took to their heels when they were sighted by the policemen on routine patrol. They were arrested and found to be in possession of a locally made gun loaded with one cartridge.
The two of them, according to Oyeyemi, were members of a deadly cult group said to be terrorising Ago Iwoye and its environs.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said that the state Commissioner of Police, IIiyasu Ahmed, had ordered that the men be transferred to State Anti-Robbery Squad, Abeokuta for further investigation.
