MEN of Ogun State police command have arrested six suspects for stealing 95 sets of computer with chargers at Egba Obafe Community Grammar School in the state.
The suspects were among other criminals paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Ilyasu, on Tuesday, at the command’s Headquarters Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Ilyasu told newsmen that the principal of the school Mrs Olaide Ajiboye, reported the stealing of the computer machine to the divisional police Headquarters, Owode Egba.
He added that the prompt response of the DPO led to the arrest of two members of the group
The school security guard, Saheed Adamu, was said to have connived with the gang leader, Ojo Oluwagbotemi, to burgle the school computer laboratory
Oluwagbotemi however said that Adamu introduced him to the business, when he was in the town to buy ram.
The gang leader said, “I was in the town to buy ram and couldn’t find any to buy. I was introduced to Adamu by some people that he could be of help. I met with him and he told me about the school computer sets. I was taken to the laboratory and when I inspected them, I knew that we are going to make money out of it.
“I travel to Ibadan to look for anyone that can receive the goods and I got in touch with someone.”We came back to steal the computers and sold it off to the receiver”. Other members of the gang arrested were Olakunle Olanrewaju, Sola Oluwatayo and Olanipekun Olatunji.
