Police officers of Ayobo Division have arrested 34-year-old Olamilekan Odofin, who had been on the run for over a year for championing attacks on motorists and the Police under the guise of Yoruba Nation agitation.
The arrest of Odofin was made public by Lagos State Police Command PPRO, Benjamin Hundenyin via his official X account on Friday, 26th of January 2024.
According to Hundenyin, investigation is still ongoing on how Odofin allegedly mastermind a series of attacks on motorists and law enforcement personnel, all conducted under the guise of Yoruba Nation agitation.
The suspect, Odofin, is believed to have orchestrated these attacks on January 9, 2023, targeting both civilians and police officers.
The incidents raised concerns and prompted a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies.
Recall that Hamudat Abibat Babatunde, one of the loyalists of the Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, on Thursday, charged the authorities of the Department of State Security (DSS) to investigate false claims by one Alimi Shakiru Adebare over alleged sexual abuse during her 118 days in custody.
“We must deny these groups the undue publicity they crave,” the minister said.
