Again, police arrest Nollywood star, Seun Egbegbe, for alleged fraud

THE police in Lagos State have once again arrested a popular Nollywood star, Seun Egbegbe, for alleged fraud.

The image maker in charge of the state police command, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest of the movie maker to Tribune Online.

According to the police spokesperson, Egbegbe, who was last year arrested for alleged phone theft at the Computer Village with one other person were trying to dupe two bureau de change operators.

It was gathered that Egbegbe had lied to the bureau de change operators that he was the Medical Director of the Gbagada General Hospital.

He was said to have told the operators to bring a huge amount of US dollars and British Pounds.

Badmos said “Good day sir, arrest of notorious fraudsters  today at about 1300hrs, one Seun Karim aka Egbegbe and one Ayo Oyekan disguised as the MD of Gbagada General Hospital and the other as a patient, lured one Alhaji Isa Adamu and Abdullahi Haruna both bureau de change members, from different location that they needed $9000 and £3000.

She added that “The unsuspecting victims brought same to the suspects at the hospital collected the said amount and attempt to escape with money.”

The Lagos police spokesperson also stated that “The victims raised alarm and subsequently the suspects were arrested by the policemen attached to the hospital.

“Further to the arrest of the fraudsters many members of bureau de change are trooping to the office with similar complaint against the suspects, case is under investigation,” Badmos added
