Police arrest man for dehumanising son in Ogun

The victim

Adeoye Oreyemi, 42, has been arrested by the men of the Ogun State Police Command, in Sagamu area of the State, over alleged dehumanisation of his 13 year-old son, Demola.

This is contained in a statement from the office of the Police Public Relations on Tuesday, that Adeoye, residing at No.9, Dokun Street, Ewuga, chained his son for stealing a sum of N2,000 from his purse.

The victim was said to have been stripped naked by his aggrieved father while his hands and legs were tied with chain.

Concerned neighbours were said to have alerted the Police on the development because of the fear that the boy might give up the ghost under such condition.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Sagamu Divisional Police Division, SP Aduroja Moses, was reported to have led his men to the accused person’s residence and rescued the teenager soaked with blood and took him to an hospital within the town for treatment.

The suspect upon investigation would be charged to court on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu.

The CP warned that the command would not tolerate any act of lawlessness from any member of the public, no matter how highly placed the person might be.
