The four suspects, Monday Bernard, Yinusa Afizu, Stanley Bello and Abiodun Damilola were arrested in Idanre and Ikare Akoko area of the state.
Speaking while parading the suspects, the State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Femi Joseph, explained that Bernard and Afizu were arrested in Idanre when trying to snatch a motorcycle from one Azubuike Ugbala.
He said ” the two suspects called a commercial motorcycle rider, who offered to carry the two passengers Afizu and Bernard with his motorcycle.
“On getting to Gbeku Hill Idanre en route Odode Idanre, one of the passengers Afizu hit the Okada man on the head with an iron rod with the intent of robbing him of his motorbike.
“However, the complaint raised an alarm and good Samaritans came to his rescue, the two suspects were arrested and taken to the station.”
Joseph explained that the other two suspects were arrested in Ikare Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state, after snatching motorcycle belonging to one Semiu Suleiman.

He, however, said the two suspects were arrested in Supare Akoko with one locally made pistol, toy gun, one Navy Camouflage and weed suspected to be Indian Hemp.
Speaking on his arrest, Afizu said he decided to involve in the crime because he needed to change his work, saying I am tired of working in the farm.
He said ” I was pushed into the business because of the hardship of working on the farm. I planned to take the motorcycle to Ilesha, my hometown in order to use the Okada for business.
“I was pushed to the crime by hardship and it is the handiwork of the devil.”
