Police arrest 333 suspected criminals in Jigawa

Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 333 suspected criminals whom were allegedly committed various criminal offences across the state in the second quarter of this year.

This was disclosed by the commissioner of police in the state, Mr Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi while briefing newsmen on the command’s achievement in the second quarter of this year at the state’s command headquarters and parading some suspected criminals.

Mr Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi explained that from April to June the command succeeded in arresting 25 Armed Robbers, 6 Kidnappers 39
Rapists, 83 Culpable Homicides 18 Vandals, 58 Thieves, 101 Drug barons/users 101, and 3 Fraudsters 3.

The police boss added that in the period of three months, that is from April to June three fraudsters and a total number of 101 suspected drug barons and drug users were apprehended at various parts of the state.

He further that the items recovered from them included two fabricated pistols, two Dane guns, five ammunition, and live pump action cartridges.

“Items also recovered are 14 Motorcycle, two Motor vehicle, 1 Tricycle, 12 handsets, 36 inches Plasma TV 36, Laptop, Firman Generator and Submersible pumping machine, Large quantities of vandalized cable/ armored wires and pieces of vandalized transformer”.

The police commissioner noted that “other recovered items are six Cows, three Sheep, ₦792,000 cash, Counter Counterfeited USD 32 pieces of 100 notes”.

He added that “on the side of drugs barons and users four and a half block and 322 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 83 Soak and die, four packets and 283 pieces of rubber solutions, 73 Tramadol, 190 Exol, 339 D5 and 31 tablets of Pregabalin.

Mr Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi said most of them were arraigned in the competent courts of law with few that are recent yet as an investigation is in progress.

He, therefore, assured the people in the state of his command’s commitment to protecting their lives and properties, “I’m also appealing to people to be providing us with credible information as security is a collective responsibility”.

Abdullahi thanks the inspector general of police and Jigawa state governor for their support and encouragement and officers and men in the command for their hard work.
