Police arrest 30-year-old fake soldier, recover Army camouflage in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Aminu Mohammed, from Magaji Quarters, Bauchi metropolis, for impersonating Nigerian Army personnel for the past two years unnoticed, in violation of sections 110(1) and 251 of the Criminal Code.

He was apprehended by operatives of the Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate Divisional Police Headquarters (C) Division.

The arrest was made on July 22, 2024, after a complaint was filed against him. He was said to have collected the sum of N210,000.00 from an unsuspecting individual under the false representation of assisting in securing a job with the Nigerian Army.

Furthermore, the suspect deceitfully directed his victim to meet his friend (who is currently at large) to facilitate his entry into the military training school in Zaria.

However, after spending eight days in Zaria, the victim could not meet the individual who was supposed to take him to the training school.
