Police arrest 11 kidnappers, 7 armed robbers in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has paraded 11 suspected kidnappers that have been terrorising Ngurorea and its environs.

Also paraded are 7 armed robbers and 40 notorious shilla cult groups in Yola.

Briefing journalists at the Police Headquarters in Yola, the commissioner of police Dankombo Morris said his command under the period,  “the operatives arrested some gang of kidnappers and recovered two AK-47 rifles and 25 rounds of live ammunition.”

Similarly, the police also intercepted and arrested 5 armed robbers who robbed passengers and occupants of their vehicles from Taraba state in Adamawa en route to Cameroon.

While assuring the people of the state of the police commitment to nib crime and criminality in the state, CP Dankombo Morris said 40 notorious Shilla cult boys were also arrested in their hideout in the Sambisa area of the state capital.

Items recovered are one Toyota Prado jeep, one Hummer bus, two AK-47s with 25 rounds of live ammunition, dangerous weapons, cash of ten thousand six hundred and ninety naira, two handsets, one power bank and a leather containing charms.

The commissioner thanked Governor Ahamdu Finitri and the people of the state for their continued support and pledged to ensure the suspects are prosecuted.
