The Police in Osun, on Monday, arraigned two accused persons, Adeshina Opeyemi, 21, and Abdullateef Muhammed, 18, in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault.
The duo are facing a four-count charge bothering on assault, breach of peace, malicious damage and conspiracy, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adeoye Kayode, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on March 13, at about 4:30 p.m, at Balogun Agoro area, Osogbo.
Kayode said the duo conspired to assault one Taaofeek Sule by hitting him with fist blows and also damaged one Honda Acura vehicle belonging to one Kazeem Oyewale.
“The duo gathered themselves to disturb the peace of passers-by at Balogun Agoro area which drew unwanted attention,” Kayode said.

He said the situation led to the breach of peace before the intervention of the police.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 451, 518, 355, and 249(d) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Najite Okobie, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Mary Awodele, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties each in the like sum.
Awodele said the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and three passports sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned till April 20 for hearing.
