The police on Tuesday arraigned an applicant, Abdul Nadir, who allegedly attempted to steal a cellphone from a patient in Kings Care Hospital, in a Wuse Zone II Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Nadir, 28, who lives at No. 5 Welcome Close, Wuse Zone 6 Abuja, with two counts of criminal trespass, attempt to commit an offence with theft.
The Prosecutor, Mr Adeyemi Oyeyemi, told the court that the case was reported on March 15, at the Wuse zone III police Station by one Andrew Alumona of Kings Care Hospital Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
Oyeyemi alleged that the accused was a known thief who visits the hospital to steal phones from patients.
He said that the accused was caught in the act and handed over to the police.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 348 and 95 of the Penal Code.
He pleaded mt guilty to the charge.
Chief Magistrate Chukwuemeka Nweke, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N150,000 and two sureties in like sum.
Nweke ordered the sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
He also ordered that the one of the surety must be a civil servant and should submit his/her appointment, last promotion letters, bank statement to the Registry.
The magistrate adjourned the case until April 16 for hearing.
