Police arraign 3 friends for allegedly stealing 79 Ankara wrappers

THE police on Monday arraigned three friends in a Kubwa Grade I Area Court for allegedly stealing 79 pieces of Ankara wrapper worth N350,000.

The police charged Yakubu Inuwa, Samaila Adamu and Joy Felix with criminal trespass, conspiracy, housebreaking and theft.

The prosecutor, John Okpa told the court that one Joy Patrick reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on June 8.

He said the defendants and one other still at large connived and entered the complainant’s tailoring shop and stole 79 wrappers worth N350, 000.

Okpa said the offence contravened Sections 97, 34, 346 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the offence and the judge, Ibrahim Balarabe granted them N20, 000 bail each with one reliable surety who must be a resident within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the matter until July 15 for hearing.
