POCACOV organises Ramadan lecture in Lagos

Published by

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) is set to host a Ramadan lecture on Tuesday as part of its ongoing efforts to engage the public in meaningful discourse on the consequences of human actions and their implications both in life and the hereafter.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat, opposite NNPC, in Ejigbo Community, Lagos, at 3:30 p.m.

The lecture, themed “Name, Fame, and Shame: The Consequences of One’s Actions in the Hereafter,” is expected to provide attendees with insights into the moral and spiritual significance of personal conduct, with a view to encouraging positive behavioural change in society.

Speaking on the upcoming event, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, Assistant Commissioner of Police Olabisi Okuwobi, explained that the lecture would include an interactive session where participants could engage directly with speakers and seek clarifications on various issues.

She added that real-life stories and personal experiences would be shared to further drive home the message and help attendees learn valuable lessons from practical examples.

“The event will also feature Iftar (breaking of fast) and sharing of Qoidat (guidance on Islamic principles),” ACP Okuwobi said, noting that the lecture promises to be both enlightening and inspiring.

She urged members of the public to attend and participate actively in the programme, stressing that it offers an opportunity to reflect on the moral compass guiding everyday decisions and their long-term consequences.

ACP Okuwobi also encouraged Nigerians to support POCACOV’s mission in combating cultism and other vices in society, particularly among young people.

POCACOV is a community-based initiative directed by the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, for preventive policing and the lecture ordered by him.
