PMI unveils plans for 2025 Global Summit Series

PROJECT Management Institute (PMI) has announced the return of its Global Summit Series Africa 2025, with the next edition of the event slated for the third quarter of this year in Rwanda.

The Summit, usually a parade of stakeholders in the project management space, was left out in 2024 due to its postponement that year.

The Managing Director, PMI Sub-Saharan Africa, George Asamani, explained that the event, scheduled to hold at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda, will have its thematic thrusts woven around shaping the future of project management—fostering collaboration, innovation, and skills development.

The PMI boss described the summit, tagged ‘Africa On Purpose: Gather. Grow. Guide,” as representing an expanded agenda of the institute, offering expert-led discussions and enhanced engagement for project professionals.

He expressed optimism that the summit will provide the platform for industry leaders, executives, and government representatives to advance project management’s role in Africa’s development, while also offering thought-provoking keynotes, industry-focused panels, and discussions on AI, digital transformation, and sustainability, shaping the future of project management.

The choice of Rwanda as the venue of this year’s summit, he added, was informed by the country’s world-class infrastructure and status as a premier conference destination.

The President of the PMI Rwanda Chapter, Innocent to Kayigamba expressed the delight that the summit will provide professionals in the region with access to world-class insights, expertise, and networking opportunities that will empower them to drive impactful change in their industries and communities.
