PMI reiterates commitment to empowering project pros

The Managing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa Project Management Institute (PMI), George Asamani, has restated the institute’s commitment to empowering project professionals across Sub-Saharan Africa in order to drive meaningful change.

Asamani was speaking on the celebration of 50 rising leaders, transforming the world by leveraging their project management skills to tackle the present challenges facing the continent.

He noted that having honorees from Sub-Saharan Africa recognised among the Future 50 remains a testament to the exceptional talent, resilience and innovative spirit that define the continent’s rising project leaders.

Asamani explained that the individuals were being recognised for shaping the region’s future and showcasing to the world the profound impact of the continent’s ingenuity and leadership.

The celebrated young leaders, from 35 years and below, he added, represent a diverse group of project professionals, reshaping the future across industries like healthcare, environmental science, technology, and social justice.

“These standout professionals are building, creating, and leading transformative projects that not only solve complex problems but also help pave the way for a more inclusive, sustainable future,” Asamani stated.

He described the recognition of the 50 leaders as timely since it came at a time when project management has become more imperative than ever.
