#PMBInJapan: Buhari arrives for 7th Tokyo International Conference in Japan

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Japan for the seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

Buhari arrived at Haneda Airport in Yokohama, Japan, on Monday, and he and his entourage are expected to drive for few minutes before arriving at the Park Royal Hotel reserved for Presidents, Heads of state and government and dignitaries attending the conference.

The Governors of Kwara, Borno, and Lagos states also accompanied the President to the Japan conference.

The conference themed “Africa and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for the Future,” according to organisers, is expected to focus on Africa’s “economic transformation and improvements in business environment and institution through private investment and innovation, promotion of resilient and sustainable African society for human security; and peace and stability in support of Africa’s domestic proactive efforts.”

The conference will take place in the city of Yokohama from 28th to 30th August, 2019.

Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in an earlier statement on Friday, had hinted that the President’s participation would be his second, having attended TICAD6 in Nairobi, Kenya, in August 2016.

In Japan, President Buhari is expected to deliver Nigeria’s Statement during Plenary Session Three, where he will appraise Nigeria-Japan relations and takeaways from TICAD6.

President Buhari is in the Asian country to attend the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

The TICAD7 will take place in the City of Yokohama from August 28 to 30.

Buhari was also seen in the company of the Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema and the Nigerian Ambassador to Japan, Mohammed Gana Yisa on his arrival in Japan.
