An unidentified man was, on Wednesday, found dead after he was electrocuted inside the well, at Odukoya Estate, Egbeda area.
The incident, it was gathered, happened around 2.30 p.m.
Lagos Metro gathered that the victim was an artisan, who was hired for plumbing work and he eventually died in the well.
The incident was said to have happened when the deceased was working on a pipe to be connected to a pumping machine inside the well before he got electrocuted.
His remains were recovered from the well by men of the Lagos State Fire Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), along with men of the Nigeria Police (Gowon Estate division), who visited the scene of the incident.
General Manager, LASEMA, Mr Michael Akindele, who confirmed the incident, said “preliminary investigation carried out by the ERT revealed that the victim was hired to do plumbing work on the well and he was electrocuted by the pumping machine.”
He said further investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate government agencies.
