Please stop cursing Nigeria —Rapper, Weird MC begs Nigerians

Published by

VETERAN UK-based Nigerian rapper, songwriter and producer, Desola Idowu, popularly known as Weird MC, who raised her concern about the way people say negative words about the country, has urged Nigerians to stop cursing the country.

Idowu, who made this plea in a brief interview with Saturday Tribune, however stated that it is true that the people are frustrated, but according to her, whatever we pronounce on Nigeria is what will become of the country.

The Ijoya crooner who claimed she is now a Christian said: “Dear Nigerians, please stop cursing Nigeria. Even when the Israelites were in a strange land, God commanded them to pray for that land where they dwelled, so that the blessing of the land will also flow to them. Your words can enrich you and at the same time enslave you; we should watch what we say.

“I know that things are tricky right now, but I believe in Nigeria and I have always believed in Nigeria. I tell people that Nigeria is a virgin territory, there is a huge potential, and we should stop cursing our leaders. We should pray that the Lord minister wisdom into their hearts, softens their heart and that the righteousness of God rules in our country. It is our country, never curse the land where you dwell, because those curses will boomerang and come back to you. Our words are seeds, and a place where you live, where you do business, you don’t curse the place.”
