Plateau REC tells Head of Operation to step aside

Plateau State INEC Head of Operations, Mr Kundu Yagba has been asked to step aside for Saturday gubernatorial election following the discovery of electoral materials in his procession.

A source close to the Commission in Jos revealed that Yagba was asked to step aside after the police intercepted INEC results sheets and collation materials in his possession and was said to have  allegedly removed the electoral materials  from the Jos office of CBN  in questionable circumstances before he was caught by the police

INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity in the state,  Mr Osaretin Imahiyerobo was not willing to speak on the matter when contacted by our Correspondent in Jos.

He said” I can not speak on an issue I am not fully aware of. I can only speak when I get to know what really happened in the case”

Addressing newsmen over the development in Jos, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Halilu Pai said Mr Yagba has been asked to step aside for the period of the election to pave the way for investigation.
