Plateau police apprehend escaped suspected Port Harcourt ritualist

Plateau State Police Command has arrested  University of Port Harcourt undergraduate ritualist, Ifeanyi Dike who escaped from the police custody in Rivers State recently while the suspect has also stated that nobody aided his escape from Port Harcourt.

Ifeanyi Dike, a UNIPORT undergraduate 200 level student escaped after being arrested for allegedly killing an eight-year-old girl in Port Harcourt .Dike escaped from the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department few hours after he was paraded at the Police Headquarters.

Plateau State Police Commissioner, Mr. Peter Ogunyanwo who confirmed the arrest of Dike to newsmen in Jos said the suspect was arrested by men of his command at Barakin Ladi Local Government Area of the state by men of SARS while on patrol of the area.

Mr. Ogunyanwo said the suspect who escaped from the Police Custody in Rivers State was re-arrested while committing house crime adding that Dike would be transferred to Rivers State to face the charges against him.

The suspect while speaking with newsmen shortly after he was paraded, said he had been hibernating in the local government areas since he escaped from the police cell in Rivers State adding that he was apprehended   by the police while trying to steal bread.

He debunked the allegation that he was aided by the police to escape from the cell in Port Harcourt. “After my statement and while being taking to the cell, I ran nobody assisted me, I escaped on my own.

Dike added that the eight years old girl he killed was not meant for ritual but to cover the track of the crime he committed as a rapist adding that he was ready to face justice concerning the crime committed.
