Over the last six years, Michael has built a career marked by technical excellence and an unwavering commitment to innovation. Michael’s journey to becoming a trailblazer in cybersecurity started with a strong academic foundation. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computing from Wichita State University, where he graduated with a stellar GPA. During his time there, he earned multiple prestigious awards, including the Lee R. Riley Distinguished Graduate Assistantship Award and the Garvey International Center Scholarship.

Currently based in Texas, Michael’s role at Fortinet involves providing advanced cybersecurity solutions to businesses and government entities. His technical skills span a wide range of areas, including firewalls, SD-WAN, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and network security protocols.
Before joining Fortinet, Michael gained hands-on experience as a Technical Support Engineer in Lagos, Nigeria, and as a Network Support Engineer Intern at Vodacom Business. These early roles prepared him for the complexities of cybersecurity on a global scale.
His dedication to the field has also led to significant research contributions. His publications, such as “Security Paradigms for IoT in Telecom Networks” and “The Evolution of Cyber Resilience Frameworks in Network Security,” provide insights into solving some of the industry’s toughest challenges.
“My research is focused on creating practical solutions that not only solve today’s problems but also anticipate future risks,” he explained. “Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires both technical expertise and innovative thinking.”
Michael’s contributions extend beyond his professional roles. As a recipient of multiple accolades and a member of esteemed organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers, he is a role model for young professionals in technology.
