Chairman, Pinnatech Group, Dr. Christopher Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu), has been honoured as the Champion Newspapers’ 2023 Manufacturer of the Year.
Ndubuisi was conferred with the honour during the newspaper’s annual awards ceremony held at the Eko Hotels & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Conferring the award to Dr Ndubuisi at the ceremony, former Governor of Cross River State, Mr Dolnard Duke, said Ndubuisi has distinguished himself as an exceptional Nigerian job creator who has continued to create opportunities for Nigerians, particularly in the technology space.
Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Champion Newspaper, Dr Iheakanwa Nwadiuto, said the award event is “structured to serve as a tonic to the efforts, dedication, and tenacity of purpose of persons, institutions, and organisations who have over the years consciously made sacrifices in advancing the fortunes of the Nigerian nation and her people.”
She said the awardees are the calibre of people and institutions that Nigeria needs to “get better and bigger” and, in the same breath, calls on the political class to reconsider the issue of a single term of five years to enable elected public servants to focus on governance instead of seeking re-election.
Responding shortly after receiving the award, Dr Ndubuisi dedicated the award to “his wonderful family, staff, staff and associates who have contributed so much to his current position.
According to his media aide, Comrade Chinedu Okafor, who disclosed the information to journalists in Awka on Friday, the awardee was accompanied to the event by his associates, friends, and family members.
