Pick best among your team as Ministers, Mumuni tasks Tinubu

Published by

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has enjoined President Bola Tinubu to pick the best people in his team as ministers, advisers, and heads of various agencies.

Mumuni, who was a member of the Security and Intelligence Committee of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, noted that this is necessary for the new administration to move the country forward.

The former gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change who urged Nigerians to rally support for Tinubu, advised the former Lagos state governor to put the round peg in a round hole by appointing the best brains as ministers and advisers.

The renowned security expert and author added that this will help the new President to achieve his aims in all areas of human endeavours.

Mumuni made these declarations on Wednesday in a press release issued by his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, a copy of which was made available to journalists.

Mumuni also expressed confidence that Tinubu will not disappoint Nigerians being an experienced politician and astute administrator who has been in the political system for so long.

“So, for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu he’s not starting on ground zero. He only needs to build on these legacies.

“He is the kind of leader we need in this country. The leader that is strong politically and administratively savvy.

“With Tinubu’s exposure, education, background and network, I believe that his administration will be a huge success for the entire Nigerians.

“He has great minds with him right from inception. He is a great mentor who has mentored so many great leaders. Hence, it won’t be difficult for him to assemble his team immediately after the Monday, May 29 inauguration.

“Asiwaju has always emphasised that he will run an inclusive government and will be fair to all irrespective of religious, tribal and partisan persuasions. This is the best move for us to move the country forward and heal the nation. I want to urge Mr President to pick the best among those who are his team. The patriotic and qualified ones with the interest of Nigeria at heart.

“He also has the important task of uniting aggrieved members of the APC back to the fold. Those who kicked against the Muslim-Muslim ticket and those who felt slighted by the position of the party on the national assembly leadership. As a party, we must continue to forge a united front always.

“Asiwaju Tinubu should also remember that the formation of the ruling APC is the amalgamation of progressive political parties. The capable ones should be given the opportunity to serve the country with their exposure and expertise. He should embrace these tendencies.

“I have strong belief that with his vision and blueprint for the country, Nigeria will be a lot better place to live. Tinubu has a strong economic and security team that can find lasting solutions to the issue of insecurity and inflation and hike in the prices of commodities. I congratulate Asiwaju on his anticipated inauguration and wish him a successful tenure in office.”
