Landmark Africa Group has partnered with the Enugu State Government to lease the 50-hectare Nike Lake resort for 35 years.
Announcing the partnership, Governor Dr. Peter Mbah highlighted the resort’s potential as a catalyst for the state’s tourism and investment sectors.
The group aims to transform the resort into a world-class tourism and leisure destination, attracting over three million visitors annually and contributing significantly to Enugu’s economic growth and global appeal.
He said, “We see this project as a strategic opportunity to position Enugu as a regional hub for tourism and business.” The governor, however, pledged state support to provide the necessary infrastructure.

The collaboration was said to align with the governor’s vision of sustainable development and enhanced living standards for the people of Enugu. “This partnership reflects our commitment to making Enugu a better place for both residents and investors,” Mbah added.
Paul Onwuanibe, Managing Director of Landmark Africa Group, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and shared the company’s plans for the resort. “Our investment in Nike Lake Resort will not only elevate it to international standards but will also create significant employment opportunities for Enugu’s youth and drive economic growth,” Onwuanibe stated.
Recall that Tribune Online reported that the federal government ordered the demolition of the beach complex, citing violations of building codes and environmental protection regulations in 2022.
Coastal erosion and the improper use of ecologically sensitive areas were also highlighted as contributing factors to the decision.
