PHOTOS: Funeral service holds for Deji Tinubu in Lagos

Preparations for the burial of Deji Tinubu, the late Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State began 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, with a funeral service organised for him at the City of David RCCG Parish, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In attendance at the church service were the wife of the deceased, Oluwayemisi and their children Moyo and Tami, and GMD, Oando, Wale Tinubu a brother to the deceased and other family members.

Governor Ambode and his wife, Bolanle, top government functionaries in Lagos, Lagos white cap chiefs, a former goalkeeper of Super Eagles, Ike Shorounmu, Ovation Magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, and other guests, and friends of the family were also at the funeral service.

The remains of Deji had arrived the church at 8:00 a.m., much earlier before the service began, and at about 9:30 a.m., sympathisers filed out to pay their last respect to the Deji, who was also a former head of Lagos State Sports Commission, his wife, Oluyemisi, being the first to bid her late husband farewell in an emotion soaked event.

At about 10:00 a.m., the remains of Deji were brought into the church for the commencement of the funeral service, which was presided over by Pastor Siju Oluyomade.

In his sermon, Pastor Oluyomade spoke well of Deji, who he said supported the church during his life time. Deji’s kind gesture was also attested to by Mrs Oluyomade, the pastor’s wife.
