Philanthropist donates materials, furnishes classroom in Abuja

A Nigerian Philanthropist, Fejiro Oliver has donated materials and furnished a block containing six classrooms in a school for the less privileged, out-of-school children, and other underprivileged children in Lugbe, Abuja.

During the presentation of materials to Christ City Mission School, in Lugbe, Fejiro Oliver said “I am here today to present materials that we have provided, materials like desks, chairs, chalkboards and books to the school.

“We believe that the only way a child can succeed, basically, is through education, and it starts with a very conducive learning environment”.

He explained that with a conducive environment, the children will “feel happy coming to school”, noting that it was important to encourage the youths to have formal education.

Fejiro stated that ” we had to construct a playground afresh, this alone is an attraction to them (the children). Most of these kids have not been to magic land, or other beautiful places, this is the first of it’s kind they are seeing.

“So this is like an attraction to them henceforth, they will love to go to school because of the good things within the school environment.

While receiving the philanthropist, the Founder of Christ City Mission School, Carol Shalom said the upgrade is already impacting positively in the lives of students in the school.

“The upgrade is already impacting them, so many more will come because we have free education here, there is no school fees to be paid here ” Shalom reaffirmed.

She noted that “we are not a conventional school. We are unconventional, no school fees, children of all tribes and religion are schooling here”.

The Proprietress commended Fejiro for the kind gesture, “the desks are changed, the classrooms have a new look. Everything we need in school, Oliver has given it to us, for a start, the children will extremely be impacted” she said.
