PHCDA will revolutionise primary health care in Kogi ― Dr Yakubu

The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Dr Abubakar Yakubu has revealed that the agency would revolutionise primary healthcare in 2020, saying the award bestowed on him would do more to benefit the rural dwellers.

Dr Yakubu disclosed this on Thursday in Lokoja during the 10th year anniversary/awards  of the Civil Society Organisation for Malaria Control,  Immunisation and Nutrition, (ACOMIN),

The Executive Director who stated that the agency in two years has achieved 60 per cents of its plans for the primary healthcare in the state, assured that in 2020, all the primary healthcare would be brought under one roof for effective service delivery.

According to him “The law has been assented to by the governor of the state Alhaji Yahaya Bello to have all the primary healthcare under one roof and this year (2020) we will ensure that we implement the law.

“The basic health provision funds that are one per cent of the national income which was split across the country, Kogi state is also billed to take its share of the funds and we want to put the funds on  our primary health care to start  utilising the funds for the purpose of improving the health of the people”

While commending ACOMIN for the award bestowed on him, Dr Yakubu said the award and other awards that were given to him last year would spur him to do more for  humanity

“I want to thank the organiser of this event and this award will spur me to do for the people to attain the capacity we are hoping and planning to attain to enable the rural dwellers to benefit from the agency,” he said.
