Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, has clarified that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi is still a member of the Labour Party (LP) and not joining Social Democratic Party (SDP).
This statement comes in response to claims that Obi is considering joining the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Tanko equally mentioned that LP leaders will hold a meeting within the week to address key issues, including the Supreme Court judgment sacking Julius Abure as LP national chairman.
He emphasised that Obi’s membership status with the Labour Party remains unchanged.
The statement counters comments made by Adewole Adebayo, SDP’s former presidential candidate, who claimed that Obi, alongside former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, are in talks with the SDP in preparation for a defection.
