The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has commiserated with Nigerian Grammy Award-winning artiste, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, over the death of his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun.
Tribune Online reports that Mrs. Balogun passed away in the early hours of Friday.
Mourning the death of the artiste’s mother via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Obi described the death of a loved one as a very painful experience, especially when the person in question is one’s mother.
He, however, prayed that God grant the late Mrs. Balogun eternal rest and give the Balogun family the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
He wrote, “On behalf of the OBIdient family, I sincerely commiserate with Mr Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, (Wizkid), who reportedly lost his beloved mother. The death of a loved one is a very painful experience, more so a beloved mother.
“Dear Wizkid, may God Almighty who called her home grant her eternal rest in His kingdom and grant you and your family the fortitude to bear her irreplaceable loss.
God bless you always. – PO.”
