Pete Edochie’s son, Yul wants to contest for Anambra governorship election

As preparation for the Anambra State governorship election gather momentum, Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has announced his intention to run. He disclosed this on his Instagram account during the week, where he insisted that older politicians in the state had failed the masses.

Edochie, a son of veteran actor, Pete Edochie, is famous in the English-speaking movies and has done well for himself in the last few years. The announcement may have come as a surprise to some of Edochie’s fans, who appeared to be divided over his decision to test his weight in the mulky waters of politics.

While some of them wished him well, others said he should rather concentrate on his acting career and leave politics alone. But, Edochie does not seem to be backing down, though he is yet to reveal the political platform he intends to contest.

According to the actor, the state needs a new brand of leaders, who will put the masses first. “Older ones have failed us. They have come to the last bus stop. We will reveal more of our plans as time progresses,” he said.
