Pelican Valley CEO hails Abiodun over Onasanya’s appointment as Ogun head of service

Published by

Real estate entrepreneur and philanthropist, Babatunde Adeyemo, has commended Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, over the appointment of Mr Kehinde Onasanya, as the new Head of Service in the state.

Adeyemo, the Chef Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, said the elevation of Onasanya to the office of head of service did not come to him as a surprise, adding that the appointment was well deserved and fitting.

According to the philanthropist and promoter of Okó Opó Foundation, the appointment is an answer to the prayer made in that direction over a year ago when Mr Onsanya, then a permanent secretary, visited Pelican-Valley estate Laderin-Abeokuta on a courtesy visit.

While receiving Onasanya during the visit last year, Adeyemo had said: “I’m not surprised you became a permanent secretary and by God’s grace, you will be promoted because administration is about vision. You have the vision and it is not something anyone can learn in school. Administration is inborn. What is administration? It is an ability to discover people and raw talents before they become very very glaring. For you to have discovered me then, and do much more to encourage us, it shows that the administrative acumen is inborn in you.

“And I believe Ogun State government and the state generally have a lot to benefit from people like you. As a PS, you are, to me, still being under-utilised. I believe you still need to be utilised optimally and by the grace of God it will happen,”

It will be recalled that Governor Abiodun approved the appointment of Onasanya as the new head of the service after the retirement of Mr Kolawole Fagbohun.

Until his appointment, Mr. Onasanya was the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.

He joined the civil service as an Information Officer, GL. 08 on 2 December 1993 and rose through the ranks to a director on GL. 17. He was appointed Permanent Secretary on 2 October 2020.

Since his appointment as permanent secretary, he has worked in many agencies, including the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs and Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.
