The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has disclosed plans to improve Ease of Doing business reforms at the state level in Nigeria.

According to a statement by the project Manager of PEBEC Aimeya Okpebholo, the Council will begin its subnational tours on November 12, 2024, in Katsina State.

He explained that the initiative aims to enhance the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) reforms at the state level through strategic collaborations with government entities, private sectors, and international partners.

The statement noted that the tour will feature town hall sessions, stakeholder engagements, and an MSMEs exhibition.

“Participants from Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara are expected to attend.

“This tour aligns with the PEBEC’s goals to improve Nigeria’s business climate, foster trust and transparency between businesses and regulators, and enhance the perception on the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

“The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) was established in July 2016 by the Federal Government to oversee Nigeria’s business environment intervention with the dual mandate of removing bureaucratic and legislative constraints to doing business and improving the perception of the ease of doing business in Nigeria. The Council is chaired by His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima.”

The Council since inception has implemented over 190 reforms aimed at improving Nigeria’s business climate.
