EMIR of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has stressed the importance of peace in Nigeria, saying it is only this that can enhance the socio-economic advancement in Nigeria.
He expressed this during the occasion marking the 10th year coronation anniversary of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, held at Ondo town, Ondo State.
According to him, it’s only in an atmosphere of peace that meaningful development can take place, urging all and sundry to work towards one Nigeria. While congratulating the Paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom, the Emir described him as an epitome of humility.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Health in Ondo State, Dr Dayo Adeyanju, used the opportunity to highlight some of the achievements recorded by the government of Ondo State, particularly in the area of health. He explained that the establishment of the medical village at Laje, Ondo town has turned the village to a medical tourist centre where people from all walks of life come for medical attention.
While joining others to felicitate with the royal father on the 10th anniversary, Dr Adeyanju, said that the state Ministry of Health and some non-governmental organisations, had embarked on medical mission by giving free medical screening to people.
