PDP National Convention: Party may reach out to Jonathan, Secondus

Published by

As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gears forwards her National Convention in October, the Party may reach out to the former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who has not shown interest in the activities of the Party in recent times and the suspended former Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus for participation.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday after the meeting of the Contact and Mobilization sub-Committee, the Deputy Governor of Taraba state, Engr. Haruna Manu who represented the Chairman of the Committee, Arch. Darius Ishaku said all party members will be contacted.

Manu when asked by Journalists whether the Committee will contact the former President and Chairman stated “I can assure you that those people who are mentioned will be contacted”.

The Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had said last week that all delegates of the Party will be contacted for the convention.

“We are expecting everybody from all the wards who are delegates to attend the Convention. You can see that the Party is working and it is a turning point for 2023” he stated.

Engr. Haruna Manu also made reference to Fintiri’s answer to newsmen, “that discussion was raised last week and the Convention Committee has answered you on this. My answer still remains same as that of the chairman he said”.

On the preparation of the Contact and Mobilization sub-Committee, he said “remember that various committees were inaugurated last week as you are aware, and we all said that the committee will meet this week.

“So this very important committee of contact and mobilization is meeting today to discuss modalities, on how best to go about our functions and responsibilities. And that’s exactly what we have done today, and then after today, we’ll be able to come up with our budget for what we need for the convention. That is basically what we have discussed.

“We have not yet finalized on this as we are aware of the deadline for the submission of the budget which is on Thursday and today is Tuesday. So, we will meet tomorrow, so that we can put some finishing touches into what we have so far” he said.

The Dangers In Mixing Toilet Cleaner With Bleach

Few weeks ago, Eniola Oyemolade, a journalist, decided to get creative while cleaning, by mixing a toilet cleaner and a bleach together. She did this with the thought that if one product works, mixing it with another would make it even better.

Unknowing to her, Mixing bleach with toilet cleaner creates a poisonous gas that can cause adverse health reactions, including death.

“After the mixture, I started feeling a burning sensation in my throat and I had to leave the room because the odour was really bad too,” she said.
