PDP lauded over repositioning efforts for effective opposition role

Published by

The publisher of 9News Nigeria, Mr Obinna Ejianya, has commended the recent move by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leadership to realign and reposition the party, saying this will afford the party the strength to play its expected opposition role in the country.

Ejianya, via his official X (Twitter) account @Obinna_Ejianya, said that the PDP’s realignment and assumption of its role as the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) government’s strong opposition are good for Nigerians.

He further noted that it’s good that the PDP is recuperating and realigning to put up a strong and reasonable opposition against the APC government being led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“It’s good that the PDP is recuperating and realigning to put up a strong, reasonable opposition against the APC government being led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“By so doing, the party will be able to form a shadow executive government that would not only criticise and checkmate wrong policies but point the government in the right direction of good governance and accountability.

“This is a healthy opposition that could help Nigeria and Nigerians to forge ahead and become a better country where citizens can afford basic human needs. Remaining on the fence and continuing with relentless ‘I-no-go-gree’ will only worsen the dreadful bad case of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“Recall that the PDP’s press statement comes just one day after their 2023 election presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, tweeted that he was in a meeting with the National Executive Committee of the Inter-Party Advisory Council Nigeria (IPAC).

Atiku also emphasised the importance of protecting Nigeria’s democracy and expressed concern over the APC’s actions that are leading Nigeria towards a one-party dictatorship.

“These hitherto public statements by the major opposition party and its leadership are a welcome development in the right direction and for the overall interest of helpless and desperate poor Nigerians who are now suffocating and gasping for means of survival, credit to the very bad economy,” Mr Ejianya said.
