PDP inaugurates 15 sub-committees, says 6,000 delegates to attend October national convention

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Organizing Committee, Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has Inaugurated fifteen (15) sub-Committees in a bid to adequately prepare for the party’s forthcoming national convention.

Inaugurating the sub-committees on Thursday in Abuja, Fintiri named the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Woke as the chairman of the special duties sub-committee.

The Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifenyi Okowa head the Accreditation sub-Committee, former IGP, Solomon Arase head Security Committee While Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is the Chairman of the Electoral (Statutory) sub-Committee.

The publicity sub-Committee is head by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, Venue sub-Committee is head by Sen. Bala Abdulkadir, while Welfare sub-Committee is head by Sen. Hajiya Mariya Waziri.

The Transportation sub-Committee is head by former Governor of Gombe State, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Damkwobo, Contact and Mobilization sub-Committee is head by the Governor of Taraba state, Arch. Darius Ishaku, Protocol Committee is head by Sen. Biodun Olujimi, Medical Committee by Dr Nuhu Zafbayi and the Secretariat by Sen. Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri.

Speaking to newsmen after the Inauguration, Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said “we are adequately preparing, you can see we are here with all the 15 sub-Committees Chairmen, Vice and Secretaries.

“I have given the direction and template of what is expected of them (sub-Committees), they will go and adequately prepare and submit their report back to me in the next five days after which the Main Committee we seat and approve most of their submissions,” he stated.

Fintiri said further that “we are expecting over six thousand (6,000) delegates by our new constitution and we are fully prepared for them.

“We are expecting everybody from all the wards who is a delegate to attend the Convention. You can see the Party is working and it is a turning point for 2023,” he stated.
