FOLLOWING the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the February 23 presidential election and the decision of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to challenge the result in court, the main opposition party has summoned its expanded national caucus meeting for Monday.
Even though the National Caucus is a creation of the party’s constitution, it serves as an advisory body to the hierarchy of the PDP.

A statement issued by the national spokesman of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan in Abuja on Sunday, did not give any agenda of the meeting.
However, the meeting, which will take place at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, is expected to review the performance of the party in the presidential election, chart a way forward as well as dwell on the coming gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
