PDP governors meet in Abuja

Published by

The governor of Oyo State, Makinde, is currently hosting a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in Abuja.

The meeting taking place in the Oyo State Governors Lodge, Asokoro, is being presided over by the PDP-Governors Forum chairman and governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed.

All 13 governors elected under the main opposition party are expected to attend the meeting, whose agenda was not known at the time of this report.

But it is coming as the PDP is preparing to pick its candidate for the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election, which has become a source of controversy.

Governor Makinde had turned down the offer to be the chairman of the Edo State PDP Ward Ad-hoc Delegate Primary Election, citing the short notice and irregularities.

The matter is expected to figure highly in their deliberations at the meeting.
