PDP fixes new dates for congresses in Ekiti

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced new dates for the conduct of ward, local government and state congresses in Ekiti state.

The PDP National Working Committee(NWC) had fixed January 18,2025 for the commencement of the congresses to elect new executives for the state chapter of the party.

But stakeholders through the caretaker committee headed by Chief Dare Adeleke asked for the rescheduling of the exercise to give room for more consultations and engagements especially with the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde.

Adeleke in a chat with Nigerian Tribune at the weekend revealed that the ward congress to elect executives and three ad hoc delegates has been fixed for February 8,2025.

The caretaker chairman disclosed that the local government congress and election of national delegates is scheduled for February 12,2025.

He added that the state congress to elect officials that would pilot the affairs of the state chapter for the next four years will take place on February 22,2025.

Adeleke who expressed appreciation to the NWC particularly National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature for their efforts which he said marked a significant step forward for the party in Ekiti.

“Their tireless efforts have been instrumental in bringing us to this point, and we extend our sincerest appreciation for their dedication.

“With the timetable now available, we encourage all stakeholders to review it thoroughly and make necessary preparations,” he said.
