PDP Convention kicks off

The Non Elective National Convention of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP ‎has kicked off in Abuja, the nation’s Federal Capital Teritory, FCT.

Surprisingly , ‎the immediate past President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and members of his Cabinet, a Presidential aspirant of the Party in the 2019 elections, its serving and former Governors as well as leaders stormed the Eagle Square, venue of the Convention is a grand style.

‎Sule Lamido, the Party’s Presidential aspirant on his own stormed the arena with several branded vehicles with his supporters amidst dancing and drumming.

Also, many aspirants for various offices in the National Executive Council of the party as well as elective offices in the 2019 general elections came along with dancing groups along with their banners to add glamour to the convention.

Speaking with the Tribune Online on the large crowd at the Convention Venue, the National Publicity of the Party’s National Caretaker Committee, NCC, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said that it showed that Nigerians still loved the Party.

“Nigerians still love PDP, they see us as the alternative to the APC rubbish government come 2019, by now they don’t need any Prophet or soothsayer to tell them what is awaiting them now that our crisis is over.”

There was free flow of assorted foods and ‎drinks at the venue of the non-elective National Convention of the Peoples’ Democratic Party at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

It was gathered that apart from the assorted foods‎, water, soft drinks and other menu provided for the quest by the Party, individual party leaders and aspirants also added Can beer free.

As at the Press time, it was a carnival-like affair at the Eagle Square as various leaders and group were making speeches while others were dancing round to their happiness of the rebirth of the PDP.
