PDP Convention: Adeniran counsels delegates over choice of candidate

PDP will return to power in 2019 ―Prof ‎AdeniranPDP will return to power in 2019 ―Prof ‎AdeniranA Chairmanship aspirant to the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Professor  Tunde Adeniran on Thursday counseled all the delegates to the Party’s Elective National Convention slated for tomorrow in Abuja  to vote wisely according to their conscience and not to allow to be influence by individual or groups

Prof. Adeniran also expressed the hope of open, transparent and credible election which would be of international standard and acceptable to aspirants and other Party members

The Former Ambassador to Germany  who had earlier expressed reservations on the preparations for the conduct of the convention, said that  the party leadership had responded to the issues he had raised, and had  allayed their fears.

Speaking through the Director‎ General of his campaign organization, Alhaji Shehu Gabam, at a press conference yesterday, Adeniran described the Chairman of the National Convention Planning Committee, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state as a man of honour.

‎According to him, “We are happy with the chairman of the National  convention committee, governor OKowa, he is a man of honour. We know him very well and we believe he will do his best, he has a date with history

“He has assured us that there will be free and fair contest. We have no reason to doubt him. We believe them and we hope that the election will be transparent, open , credible‎ and acceptable to all”.

He commended the aspirants for engaging on campaign of issues devoided  of character assassination and acrimonious of any   adding that “they still interact among themselves despite their Political differences

Gabam also commended the party’s delegates for their show of support and solidarity during their nationwide campaign, noting that from what he had seen during the tour,  the delegates were not the type to be ‎easily cajoled.

He appealed to them to vote according to their conscience during the convention and promised that Adeniran would take the Party through the 2019 General elections to the Aso Rock from where the PDP was chased away in 2015
