PDP condoles Makinde over elder brother’s death

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed grief over the passing of Engr. Sunday Makinde, the elder brother of Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a statement issued on Friday by Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, the party commiserated with the governor over the shocking news.

“Indeed, our nation, and particularly Oyo State, has lost a rare gem. Engr. Sunday Makinde was a humble, exceptionally brilliant, and highly ingenious professional; a committed patriot who dedicated his life to the progress and development of Oyo State and Nigeria,” the statement read.

According to the statement, Engr. Makinde was a courageous and forthright gentleman, full of vision, realistic ideas, and practical solutions. He lived as a dependable pillar of support and counsellor to his brother, Governor Makinde, in his service to the people of Oyo State and our dear fatherland.

“It is indeed devastating that Engr. Sunday Makinde has departed at this trying time in our nation’s history, when his skills and wealth of experience are needed the most,” the party added.

Sunday Makinde, the entire Makinde family, as well as the government and people of Oyo State at this moment of grief, especially knowing what it means to lose a dearly beloved brother, husband, father, and illustrious son like Engr. Sunday Makinde.

The party prayed to the Almighty God to grant peaceful repose to Engr. Sunday Makinde’s soul and fortitude to Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire Makinde family to bear this irreparable loss.
