Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson

THE national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on behalf of its members, has condoled with Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson over the passing of his mother, Mrs Goldcoast Dickson.

The party said in a statement issued by Kola Ologbondiyan, its National Publicity Secretary in Abuja on Friday that the PDP family is deeply pained by the demise of this “extraordinary lady, a quintessential mother and exceptional community leader, who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity.”

The party said while it mourned as a party, “we draw succour from the fact that Mrs Dickson lived a fruitful life and laboured to give our nation, Bayelsa State and the PDP the gift of a statesman and patriot in Governor Seriake Dickson.”

PDP noted that Governor Dickson’s commitment towards national stability, development and good governance both as a federal lawmaker and now a state governor, “all speak volume of his background and lessons from a virtuous mother.”

The statement noted the roles played by Governor Dickson in the repositioning of the party, especially as the Chairman of the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, “wherein his prowess for peace making helped extensively in achieving the stability upon which our great party now stands. “
