Dr Henry Ofa ,PDP
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Henry Ofa, has called on Deltans and other residents of Delta State to support the Okowa administration to consolidate the peace, security and progress already attained in the state.
This is just as he charged the newly inaugurated 7th Assembly of the Delta State House of Assembly to focus on enacting laws that will strengthen the peace and unity in the state.
Dr Ofa, the patron of the Oghara Elite Forum and one-time member of the Board of the State Post Primary Education Board, made the call in Asaba on the prospects of the next four years of the Okowa administration.

He said the unity in diversity displayed by Deltans in the last governorship election was instructive of the fact that Governor Okowa’s first tenure significantly touched on the lives of many, irrespective of tribe, religion or political leaning.
Dr Ofa cited the over 1, 000 kilometres of roads across the three senatorial districts, the prudent management of the state’s resources, the empowerment of youths and women as some of the key areas that the Okowa administration did well in the past four years.
The PDP stalwart commended Deltans for their commitment to the prosecution of the stronger Delta project and expressed optimism that the next four years would yield better dividends of democracy for the state and Deltans.
Dr Ofa felicitated with Governor Okowa and his Deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, for their successful inauguration for a second term and prayed to God to see them through their onerous responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Dr Ofa, who congratulated Honourable Sheriff OborevworI and Honourable Ochor Ochor on their emergence as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, noted that the Assembly had a good number of knowledgeable and experienced members whose contributions to legislative business would carve a niche for the House.
He said achieving a strong Delta was not negotiable, adding that the state assembly could do a lot to make it possible.
The former commissioner of DESOPADEC reminded the legislators that they were elected to represent their people at the assembly, urging them to consult widely with their constituents in order to succeed.
The PDP chieftain commended the 6th Assembly for the robust relationship it had with the executive arm of government and enjoined the 7th Assembly to build it.
