THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the Chairman of its National Caretaker Committee (NCC) on attaining 61 years of age, describing him as one of the foundation pillars of the party.
A statement issued by the spokesman of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, in Abuja on Monday recalled that the former Kaduna state governor had made and continued to make outstanding contributions to the development of his state and the country in general.
It observed that the two timed Kaduna governor brought relative peace to Kaduna state.
The statement said: “It is worthy of note that under his Administration, his State witnessed relative peace that allowed the translation of his policies and programmes into concrete dividends of democracy for his people.
“We are indeed proud of his strong character and achievements as one of the Foundation Pillars of the PDP, working with all stakeholders to revive, rejuvenate, and move the Party to greater heights.
“We cannot forget his calculative, dogged and purposeful leadership direction in the Just concluded intra-party leadership litigation processes which ultimately culminated in resounding Victory for the Party.
“We join other Nigerians in thanking God Almighty for His faithfulness in our National Chairman’s life as he marks his Birthday.
“We pray that the Almighty continue to guide and guard him and his entire family, and grant him many more years of continued services to this Nation and mankind.”
