PCIS, an established cloud service provider in Nigeria, has launched its latest flagship product, Cloud Datacentre, designed to simplify data centre operations. The new platform streamlines deployment, management, and scaling of data centre resources, providing businesses with enhanced agility, scalability, and cost-efficiency. By merging traditional data centres with cloud-based technologies, PCIS aims to cater to organizations of all sizes, bridging the gap between legacy infrastructure and modern cloud environments.
Okpara George, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Founder at PCIS, shared insights into the technical capabilities of Cloud Datacentre. “At its core, Cloud Datacentre integrates traditional data centre infrastructure with cloud-enabling services. We provide a 360-degree cloud solution, from private cloud clusters to email as a service,” George explained. He highlighted the flexibility offered by their Hybrid Cloud package, which allows businesses to transfer workloads smoothly between their private cloud and PCIS’ cloud environment as computing needs change. “This flexibility is crucial for businesses looking to scale quickly without the expense and complexity of overhauling their infrastructure.”
According to George, the seamless transition between on-premises and cloud environments enables companies to maintain control over their data while benefiting from the agility and scalability of cloud services. This hybrid approach also helps meet regulatory and compliance requirements, making the platform ideal for organizations navigating data sovereignty issues while optimizing efficiency.
Ajai Elvis, the Product Lead Manager for Cloud Datacentre, emphasized PCIS’ customer-centred business strategy. A major component of the product is its pricing model, designed to address the economic realities of local markets across Africa. “We’ve introduced pricing in local currencies to help businesses avoid the challenges posed by foreign exchange volatility,” Elvis explained. “This allows our customers to save on scarce FX and plan their budgets more effectively, which is essential in regions where currency fluctuation is a constant concern.”
Elvis also underscored PCIS’ commitment to supporting customers throughout their cloud journey. “Our focus is on building strong relationships with our clients by offering extensive support and training, ensuring they maximise the value of the solutions we provide.”
Looking ahead, PCIS has announced plans to expand into additional African countries, tapping into the growing demand for scalable cloud services across the continent. “Africa is poised for cloud innovation,” George said. “By expanding into more markets, we are giving businesses the tools to build resilient, cloud-powered operations without the heavy investment typically required for building or maintaining their own data centres.”
George also revealed that PCIS’ expansion strategy includes setting up data centres in key African regions to reduce latency, boost service reliability, and support local data compliance requirements. “With localized solutions, we ensure that clients benefit from high-quality cloud services without sacrificing speed or regional compliance,” he added.
With the launch of Cloud Datacentre, PCIS continues to solidify its position as a leading player in the African cloud solutions space. By combining technical innovation with customer-focused business practices, the company is poised to meet the continent’s growing demand for flexible, cost-effective cloud solutions, while expanding its footprint across Africa.
