Pay workers’ salaries, NULGE boss tells Abia govt

Abia State government has been urged to explore possible ways to offset the backlog arrears of salaries owed local government  workers  in the state.

The state  chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mr Ijoma Onyenaucheya, who  said  this last week, during an interview   with  the Nigeria Tribune,  in Umuahia, the state capital, decried the excruciating pains being experienced by workers in the state.

He said that the situation had already  brought untold hardship to  the  workers, adding that the  current  economic  problem  facing the nation needed pragmatic approach for the people to live meaningfully.
