Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal
THE organised labour in Sokoto State has appealed to the Governor of the state, Rt Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, to urgently implement the new minimum wage as signed into law recently by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The workers made this demand during the worker’s day celebration held at the main bowl of the state stadium on Wednesday.
The chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), in the state, Comrade Aminu Umar Hammed, stated this while delivering his speech in company of other labour leaders in the state.

He commended the state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, for living up to expectation in all ramifications of smooth governance in the state.
The chairman further described Governor Tambuwal as God sent due to his achievement in many sectors which includes, regular payments of salaries and pension, creating new employment opportunities for workers in the state among others.
In his remarks, the Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who was represented by the state Head of Service, Comrade Buhari Bello Kware, assures the state workers of continuous support.
He encouraged workers in the state to continue to be more diligent and dedicated, saying the state government will continue to prioritise their welfares.
